Skateboard Wizard
Show the world that an old wizard can still learn new tricks.
Submission for Minigame a Month May 2024. The theme is WIZARDS.
Recommended to use keyboard but can use controller.
Note: Selecting Play with 'No Intro' in the title will also skip the tutorial. The intro can still be skipped with the regular start game option by hitting escape, which will still take you to the tutorial.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Perform and land tricks to prepare your spells. Each trick will give you a rune which determines the spell pool you can choose from.
CONTROLS
- D: Speed up
- A: Slow down
- W: Jump
- Down arrow: Grind
- Q + Arrow keys: Board Flip Tricks
- E + Arrow keys: Board Grab Tricks
- R/F: Frontflip/Back flip
- Space: Cast Spell
- Tab: Change selected spell
- Escape: Pause

Really enjoyed my time with this, even though I was really bad at the tricks. I kinda wish there was a bit more to the stage, sometimes It just felt empty but I guess you could set up speed spells on those parts for speedruns.
Tricks were nice, having to release and re-press jump is kinda tricky to get through, and I kinda don’t like how you cannot exist a grind, but those are not offensive at all.
Intro was cool, overall nice idea, would be interested in some followups if that is a plan! Could be a nice full fledged game in the future!
